Meri Wiikinkoski
Architect | Change Maker
Meri Wiikinkoski is an awarded architect and co-founder of Vapaa Collective together with Iines Karkulahti and Charlotte Nyholm. The collective is a creative actor combining theoretical and design work into artistic practice to envision new kinds of regenerative environments. They have chaired the Finnish Association of Architects’ Future Committee, published an essay collection reflecting on the role of architecture in the climate crisis, and curated and designed several exhibitions, installations and discussions on the topic.
Meri is enthusiastic about shaping a sustainable future and creating ways to design resilient and restorative architecture. She has practiced as a public building designer, held teaching positions at Aalto University and worked on various artistic installations.
