I am an international lawyer and sustainability practitioner with thirty years of experience leading policy and practice to advance on the environmental and social aspects of sustainable development across sectors and geographies. Founder (in 1997) and Director of the International Institute for Law and the Environment. Adjunct professor on International Environmental Governance at the School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs of IE. Legal Advisor for the 2002 EU Spanish presidency for the UN WSSD. Consultant for the WB, the European Commission and EIB in environmental projects. LL.M in International Legal Studies (NYU, 1996), and in Environmental Law (London University, 1993). Author of books and articles on different topics related to environmental protection. Broad experience in UN environmental fora such as the UNFCCC, Rio summits and UNEA.
